Re: 6-axis...6-Axis interpreter??

Tero & Till,

I have put the files for 5 axes in the CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO dropbox on Yahoo and will follow up with a 6-axis version soon (as soon as I have decided what keys to use for jogging the 6th axis!)

These files are for EMC and use 'A' and 'B' for the 4th and 5th axis (the 6th will be 'C')

Jog controls for the 4th axis are Home and End and for the 5th axis Insert and Delete.
I also had to change Brake-off to 'o' (Brake-on is Shift-B)
and homing a selected axis to Ctrl-Home

Hope this helps

Tero,
this is something i do not know. i always gave 3-axis commands for my 6 axes. I am not sure weather the 5- or 6-Axes support for the command interpreter is already included or if it must get a special flag at compile-time. R P W might be a good idea to try. These three are Roll Pitch Yaw (Yaw is not Y because Y is Y).

Subject: Re: 6-axis how can i get them working?
 Tero,
Joint mode can be selected in the pulldown-menu. default is axis-mode, i think. I dont have the gui in front of me, but I think so. You can also choose joint mode with shift-$, i think.
Referencing must be done in joint mode, before transformed motion is possible. so if you choose transformed motion right away, the Machine might try to start referencing. at least thats how i interpret it.
Till     Thanks now i got all axes home. I had to change into joint frame mode like you said. There is still one problem. what letter do i have to use if i want to move axis number 4,5 or 6? Ie. If i want axis 1 to move to1 i give command G0 X1 but what letter should iuse for extra axes? (p,w are not working)     Tero Kaarlela
