Ini file
Hi!
I have installed BDI EMC 2.12 on P 133, 64Mb, 4Gb HD, S3 graphics, 800x600
256 colors, mouse LPT1. No modem or LAN.
I have four axis 2A bipolar L297/298 halfstep driver that is proven with the
motors on another DOS based system.
I tried to configure mini.ini by instructions given on CD by John Sheahan
and I posted a question to CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO list. I received another clue
from Paul (I believe he is the author of BDI distribution?) which ini and
run file to use together.
Unfortunately I am not getting anywhere. I can't get the motors to run
smooth and getting some torque out of them.
Well, I guess listers of this list must have some knowledge about ini file
structure.
The questions I have are:
- velocity units used in ini file? (steps/second, steps/minute, ...?)
- acceleration units ( ?!?)
- deadband units? How do you know which value is correct?
- ferror units? recommended value?
If anyone has working INI / RUN combo for system described in metric format
it would be also nice for to see how it has been done.
BTW EMC is my first encounter with linux... I hope to learn more about it
in next weeks...
I hope to get the EMC runnig in the near future so I can play with my
homebrew milling machine. Photos are available if anyone interested.
