required - Ignore the kernel_patch-2.4.4, this is not needed.
I compiled a kernel using this patch, compiled without a hitch, as did the
rtlinux sources after the obligatory reboot. Come to insmod rtl.o and the
whole thing locked up - Serious session on the reboot with fsck in manual
mode.
