I'll just add to Paul's comment that, the main stumbling block to linking
with a windoze machine is the password encryption. By default windoze wants
an encrypted password. If the security of your system isn't critical, you
can alter the registry of the windoze box to accept PLAIN_TEXT_PASSWORDS and
there is a script to do this automatically in one of the directories of
tools which comes on the CD. Otherwise, you have to tell the network setup
on the linux box to use encrypted passwords. I haven't tried this option, so
I don't know how well it works.
p.s. the '...' marks in Paul's example mount script are not necessary - just
type:-
smbmount //windows-computer-name/directory /mnt
and the directory will be mounted in your linux /mnt directory which you can
browse with the file manager.
