There will be some impact on the EMC source code and scripts, since
you'd be running two copies of the EMC and the .run, .nml, and .ini
files would need to be changed. Depending upon how code is assigned to
one processor or the other, the code that starts the RT tasks in
emcmot.c would need to change also.

The advantage over two separate computers is that you'd have a single
monitor and could switch between the two GUIs with a few keystrokes.

Anyone willing to try this? I don't have any dual-processor PCs here, so
you'd have to post results to the list and be prepared to dig into the
RT-Linux SMP documentation.
