I have been thinking about moving part/all of the source code repositories
for EMC and/or RCS from NIST local servers to to one of the free Open Source
Hosting websites.
http://sourceforge.net seems to be the leading contender, although
http://www.OpenAvenue.com may be a possibility.
Both sites provide a variety of tools for letting multiple remote developers
work on the same set of files and tracking who made which change when etc.
The primary purpose of the move would be to encourage more developers to
contribute rather than just using the software.
Anybody have any experience using one of these services?
Any thoughts on what parts of EMC/RCS would most benefit from something like
this?
Any other comments/questions?
