Hello all,
I'm still wrestling with the ESTOP problem, and the more I stare at the
many posts on the subject, the more questions I come up with. I'm
pretty sure that there's one "key" question that, when I comprehend the
answer, a whole bunch of stuff will make sense. I just wish I knew what
that question was!!
OK, here's today's puzzler: In an effort to figure out why I can't get
out of ESTOP, I changed the debugging level to &H7FFFFF or whatever the
highest level is. Now when I press the F1 key, in addition to _not_
getting out of ESTOP I get this:
Issuing EMC_TASK_SET_STATE -- (+505, +16, +4, +2,)
which I probably don't need to understand...however, F2 gets me this:
emcStatus--> io.aux.estop = 1
emcStatus--> io.aux.estopIn = 0
which seems strange because I am using minimillio, which apparently does
not use aux io for estop sense etc. like bridgeportio. No combination
of values in emc.ini relating to estop seems to affect this, and there's
some stuff in there that's kind of confusing.
For example, what's the MOTION_IO_ADDRESS about?
What should I do with the "digital out bits section if I have no aux io
port?
And what about analog out bits?
I am using &H278 for steppers, by the way.
thanks very much,
Patrick
ps1 - there are about six other questions in my last post, if anyone's
in a mood to ponder and enlighten!
ps2 - might someone be working on an actual pport wiring diagram that
works, with switches, step controllers etc. delineated? If I ever get
my system back on line I will gladly create one and post it...it's just
getting back there that's the thing...!
