Re: .ini documentation

Hi Robin

A couple of more notes on SHMEM_KEY and SHMEM_BASE_ADDRESS :-
SHMEM_KEY is used by realtime systems using the rtai patches, and
SHMEM_BASE_ADDRESS is only applicable to 09J rtlinux systems. The use of
mbuff to dynamically allocate shared memory has rendered reserving memory
redundant.

And a few comments on some of the other parameters...
IO_BASE_ADDRESS replaces PARPORT_IO_ADDRESS and STG_BASE_ADDRESS in the CVS
sources since around July 2002. The new parameter will be used in BDI-2.18
onwards.
DRO_BASE_ADDRESS is also a recent addition for the Kaluga/Mauch DRO card used
with smdromod.o

LINEAR_UNITS can also be set to 1.
yadayada_POLARITY = 0 | 1

SECTION AXIS_[0..5] - Never 6, or at least, not yet.

AXIS TYPE can be either LINEAR or ANGULAR

EMCIO can be either bridgeportio, minimillio, or simio - This should
correspond with the EMCTASK of bridgeporttask or minimilltask. Other IO
controllers are being added, Jon Elson's ppmcio being just one.

SPINDLE_ON/OFF_WAIT is specified in Seconds - It is the period between
spindle brake off and spindle on.

Don't forget, there is a pdf Handbook on the BDI CD that lists most of the
ini parameters (Section 6.2).

Regards, Paul.
