Compiling EMC - steppermod.o ?
I've successfully compiled EMC. I've taken notes on each step on doing this
under debian, and I'll be sure to post it here.
The emc sim program works perfectly
BUT:
The normal emc program will not run, complaining that it can't find the
steppermod module. I can't find steppermod anywhere, not even with a
egrep - only references to it.
I used "alien" to convert the emc-source RPM off the BDI linux cd,
dpkg --unpack'ed it, and discovered these missing files in
/usr/local/emc/plat/rtlinux_3_0/lib.
I then copied these .o's into where emc was looking for them,
/usr/src/emc/plat/rtlinux_linux-2_2_19/lib
I then tried to run ./emc.run but the remove_realtime_base removed a whole
heap of modules, then complained about them not being there. So I
chmod -x'ed the script.
Then I got "invalid parameter parm_MOTION_TO_ADDRESS" from steppermod.o -
assumingly because its compiled under a different kernel, or its now called
differently. I've tried substituting this with other drivers in the .ini
file, but I get even bigger errors.
I need to compile this steppermod.o from somewhere - but where? I can't
seem to find it.
Thanks
- Ryan
