Re: To Do List was EMC Cookbook

I haven't had any time to play with the Tk canvas widget but it seems to me
that we could at least make a set of 2 dimensional back plotters for blocks
of RS274NGC code using canvas widget commands.

Such a thing would be handy for visualizing machine motions on an imported
program file. It would also be handy while writing a part program. I'd
think that there would be plenty of immediate use for the "emc visualizer."

We would have to set up conversion files so that widget moves would look
like machine moves from an operator's point of view. These conversions
might also plot the moves very differently from one machine definition to
another. This would depend on where home is and what direction is plus or
minus. I'd be able to help some with it.

I'm still hung up on your idea from quite a while ago -- a micro mill using
floppy drive steppers and slides. It would be a great demo/toy. Matt
could walk into any office with his laptop and a briefcase and when the
skeptic says, "Well I won't consider emc until I've seen it run a machine."
Matt could say, as he reaches for the briefcase, "Funny you should say that."
