It turns out there is an even easier fix - and another question to go with
it.
I thought/figured/assumed that running one of the emc scripts would also do
a startx. When run from inside X EMC works just fine. So the next question
is - can one batch file do both - startx and sim.run?
Is there any way of running EMC using the text terminal and not X?
By the way - zipslack 8 along with X and TCL and a couple aditions and then
add rtlinux and emc from Brian and the total size is just over 213MB and a
zip file of 98MB and it installs and runs in a dos partition.
