ZipEMC-02 update

some more notes on the ZipSlack EMC install

I downloaded the EMC CVS from 1-13-02 under windoze and
zipped it to transfer it to the linux side without mangling the
filenames but had to reset the file permisions on all the scripts
once I got it there (windoze dosent use the right flags)

had to put RTAI aside for now ,buildrcs stopped cold with an error here

In file included from rtlnml.c:56:
rtlnml.h:50: parse error before `rtainml_open'
make[1]: *** [/usr/local/nist/rcslib/plat/linux_rtai_1_7/lib/rtlnml.o] Error 1

couldnt see any good reason for it ,but I didnt dig too deep
so I switched to rtlinux-3.1 instead
followed the Installation.txt instructions and put a copy
of the kernel source and rtlinux-3.1 into /usr/src/rtlinux
with the link /usr/src/linux pointing to /usr/src/rtlinux/linux
and had to change line 44 of linux_2_2_19.def to point into the
rtlinux directory like so
RTLINUX = /usr/src/rtlinux/rtlinux-3.1
(thats in addition to the earlier edits)
then
./buildrcs linux_2_2_19
./buildrcs rtlinux_3_1
fianaly went thru with no errors

copied file:/usr/local/nist/emc/scripts/linux_2_2_17/compile
to /usr/local/nist and on line 22 changed PLAT=linux_2_2_17 to
PLAT=linux_2_2_19  and PLAT=rtlinux_2_3 to PLAT=rtlinux_3_1
to match my setup
./compile
went thru with no errors

cd emc
./sim.run asks for rtl version ,gave it 3.1 and off we go
so far so good now try rtsim.run
not so good unresolved symbols ,try emc.run more unresolved symbols
hmmm...
OK next I'll drop back to rtlinux-3.0 and try again
right now I'm gona find a nice soft spot to bang my head on

Brian
