LPT problem

I have managed to install the EMC BDI, but cant get any output to the LPT 
port.

Upon investigation, I find that no LPT port has been installed.

The LPT port exists -at- 378, irq5

My question is, why wouldn't it install during the installation process, and 
how do I add the port now that I have Linux/EMC installed ???

I have absolutely no knowledge of Linux.

The Install was from the IMG file downloaded from linuxcnc BDI home page.
