BDI EMC Announcement

Hi Folks

After several months of work - And quite a few late nights.
The Brain Dead Install for EMC is finally ready. It will be available at NAMES
at the end of the month for $10 per CD. (maybe a little less if I can get
sufficient quantities burnt in time).

The minimum recommended hardware is as follows :

Pentium class processor - Not WinChip
16Mb Ram
420Mb IDE Hard drive - 1Gb for a programmers install
CDROM drive - preferrably one that you can boot from.
Colour graphics card
Colour monitor that can do 800x600 or better
Plus a mouse and keyboard.
1.4Mb floppy drive is optional, as is a network card.

There is no support for SCSI drives USB or sound.

The kernel is built from a virgin 2.2.18 and rtlinux 3.0 sources. Also
included is the sources for the latest 2.4.2 kernel.

A typical install will autodetect most standard hardware and from start to
finish takes about 30 minutes. No work is involved in patching or compiling
source code unless you want to.

To reserve your copy, please email me, paul.corner-at-tesco.net with
RESERVE BDI EMC in the subject header.

Ray, rehenry-at-up.net will be the main point of contact for anyone wishing to
recieve a copy via mail in the USA. These will be available in May, when I
should be in a position to handle enquiries from the rest of the world.

Regards, Paul.
