If you use the script to start everything you may want to set the DISPLAY =
emcpanel which doesn't need X. You probably actually use emcpanel except as a
backup and a place holder in the script.

Although you do need to make sure you get compatible versions of RCS library
and EMC interface code. So while tkemc from June 2000 on linux 2.0.36 or
windows should work with emc task/io/mot from June 2000 on linux 2.2.13, tkemc
from 1998 probably wouldn't work even if it were running on the same kernel
version.
