This is a real live bug which was eradicated in the 2.0.36 version but
is still in the 2.2.13 version.

The EMC adds an extra step in the direction it was going before
reversing direction. This causes a two step loss with each direction
change. One step for the extra step in the wrong direction and one for
the first step in the correct direction which was missed. Since it has
been fixed in a previous version it should be an easy fix.
