Yes, to my simplistic mind it seemed that, if I sent the cutter round in a
complete circle but specified a different finishing point for the 'z'axis,
the tool should climb steadily throughout the cut. I'm afraid that I haven't
got as far as understanding G17, G18 etc. yet!  However, if my childish
playing has highlighted a potential problem which may save others making the
same mistake on an expensive job, perhaps it has been a little worthwhile. I
notice that Will has posted another 'fix' so I had better have a go with
that.
