Apart from some bug fixes in the text mode, the BDI-2.xx installer has not 
changed since it's beginnings as a hacked RH6.2 package. As you have found, 
if 2.04 doesn't detect certain hardware, all later versions won't either.

The TNG installer is a very slightly modified RH7.2 version more suited to 
recent hardware - Even this one fails with some systems, mainly laptops.

Currently evaluating a Qt based anaconda variant with a view to using it on 
both BDI disks. It will still fail to detect some of the more unusual 
hardware combinations, but hopefully, maintaining the software will be a 
little easier for me.
