Re: SHMEM_BASE_ADDRESS

Hi Ray

The only people that would need the base address would be RH5.2 users with a
2.0.36 09J kernel. It is fortunate for more recent installs that mbuff (and
rtai_shm) now handles memory allocation without resorting to using reserved
memory. The lilo option is one thing less to remember - It tripped me up on a
number of occasions.

Whilst on the subject of ini parameter values - SHMEM_KEY need not be 100.
Looking through the source code, it would appear that just about any integer
apart from zero is acceptable. But this parameter is only used by rtai_shm,
so rtlinux users need not worry about it (unless I'm not mistaken).

Regards, Paul.
