Let me hop into this one. As written, the EMC uses motion commands with
determined endpoints. It does not currently have a very well developed
ability to hook the motion of one axis to the motion of another.
In the case of tapers, helix, and such, all motions are commanded to
their endpoints and expected to produce the correct geometry. While it
is possible to thread this way if you use the spindle as a C axis, the
programming to do it is complex and the result is marginal for my tests.
What we would need is a module that drives one or more axes in response
to the position of another and a way to switch the EMC into this mode.
