Boosting Stepper Motors

A question for the experienced EMC user:

I have a homebrew interface card for my parallel port which drives up to
4 steppers. This Card supports a BOOST signal (120 % of normal current
for starting and braking) and a SLEEP signal (20 % of normal current). 

Are these signals supported by some means of EMC ?
