how many people run emc on embedded controllers with pc/104
interfaces?

And even if they do - ans ISA access is still 100's to 1000's of cpu
cycles, which counts as slow to me.

anyway, my comments regarding ISA directly relate to boards inside a
pc.     RIP ISA.       there are better ways.
