Are the people that put the BDI together still active on this list? I would
like to chat with them if they are.

If you have a scsi I assume you have a controller card for it that you plug
it into? You need to see if the controller card has linux support under the
kernel version of the bdi i.e. a "module" that will compile under your
kernel version and library versions and gcc version. The modules can be
loaded on an existing system without a reboot even, considering of course
you have the appropriate one for your hardware and linux install.

And if you had room in your box for the scsi conroller as well as the ide
drive i wouldn't see why you couldn't have both in there and the scsi
mounted somewhere under root to provide you with 9gb of space without
changing your current install besides building and installing the module.

Hi all,

I've searched the archive and not found any references to this, so I
hope it isn't a faq:

When I installed the BDI 2.1, I noticed a box that said SCSI disks were
not supported. So I swapped in a 1Gb IDE where my 8Gb SCSI was,
thinking that I wouldn't miss it. Guess what? I'm out of space.

Are SCSI disks really not supported, and if so, could anyone comment on
when they might be in the future? (Of course, now that it's finally
installed I am loath to actually put the SCSI disk back in and try
it!!!!)

tnx,
Patrick
