why don't you try the BDI on your machine, if rh62 identified all
the hw, probably the latest BDI will do as well. otherwise you are
looking at doing the following.....
get the linux kernel at least 2.2.18.
get rtlinux 3.0
unpack them.
follow directions on how to patch the linux kernel (easy)
compile the newer kernel, (select the right characteristics for EMC
and rtlinux)
install the newer kernel.
compile the rtlinux sw.
get EMC (both emc sw and rcslib) from cvs
compile both.
have fun.
unless you are interested on how to build emc from scratch or you have
something you don't want or can delete from the current installation, I
would suggest giving BDI a try. otherwise, why do you waste time with a
proven combo and don't try rtlinux 3.1 with 2.4.16? or even better yet,
one of the beta kernels and rtai?
just kidding.
