I first should mention that I am in the process of learning EMC.
I am trying to get tkbackplot to work. I have a BDI ver 2.04 install
and have not modified any of the files (at least that I am aware
of). I do:
./run.sim from within /usr/local/emc
as it comes up it gives the message:
Note: /etc/conf.modules is more recent than
/lib/modules/2.2.18-rt13.0/modules.dep
It does this seven times. Is this normal? Does this mean that I
should remove
/lib/modules/2.2.18-rt13.0/modules.dep?
After tkemc comes up, I do F1, F2, and noting that it is in the
manual mode, I do:
x Home
Y Home
X Home
and the position displays change from yellow to green.
Jogging seems to work okay in all axes however, once I jog more than
about .15 inches, Home won't get it home without a follow error. Is
this normal?
F5 and MDI seem to work okay.
I then hit F4 to put it in the auto mode and then hit o to open a
file.
I then select 3dtest.ngc
Then I select tkbackplot from the scripts menu.
The tkbackplot window appears.
I then hit r and the program starts running. I note the positions
are changing. I can pause and step the program and continue okay.
In the tkbackplot window nothing appears. I've searched the
documentation for a solution and haven't found anything that helps.
Any suggestions to get it working?
Another question - When booting up Linux the processes scroll by
rapidly on the screen. Is there any way to pause the bootup like the
pause/break key does in DOS and thereby enable one to read the screen
messages?
