Re: EMC and STG boards.
I'm currently using the STGII 8axis on a three axis mill, using the
stg_v2_axis8.o from a hacked BDI source. The card works fine, the encoders
(US Digital E5D's - differential signals) kept up even when I crashed the
mill at high speed, around 400 to 600 ipm (2000-3000rpm). Not a recommended
test procedure, by the way!
As far as your position not registering, I would think it is your encoder's
fault, physical (dirty chopper wheel) or electrical (line interference).
