Motion control over Interbus, Profi Bus, Sercos

Anyone doing anything with any of these buses for motion control -

We are working on a rather simple bar cut off machine for a steel mill and
using interbus to control some Indramat drives from a PLC. I guess there is
and interbus card for PC that plugs into the PCI bus. Might be kind of like
using the Nationl Semiconductor or HP motion control chips but with more
options to play with. The drives can be told what speed to run, an endpoint
to go to and they give back position information. one nice feature is that
when the drives get to a position they can hold position without the motion
control package having to do anything - tell the drive to hold zero speed
and it stays in position on its own. All position information can come from
the drives with no encoders needed - the motors have resolvers and you can
program the position info any way you want(including encoder feadback) Don't
know what the refresh time is for interbus or profibus but Sercos is
designed for motion applications.

Sorry for rambling -
