GREAT! Ive been waiting for someone who has used Cam Expert... I've used
Qcad for over a year and really like it. What can you tell me about the
toolpath layout, is it automatic? how is it linked to the drawing itself?
does it offer features like varied forms of pocketing? (zig-zag vs spiral...
etc... i dont know the proper terminology)
---thanks, Dave L.

Hi
I'm using QCad [1] / CamExpert [2]. They are quite nice and run natively
under Linux. There is also source code for QCad available (uses
KDevelop / QT as devel-envinroment). Only feature that I'm longing for is
3D.
But for simple 2D work they seem to be more than adequate. And price-tag
isn't bad, QCad is free & Open Source, Cam Expert Professional for
Linux costs $180,-
