Emc Still need help!

Hello me maties.....

Have Just installed BDI EMC!

                 Have finally enabled it to talk to my stepper motors.

                 Although I still have some problems ...

                 Q1

                 EMC hangs machine (intermittent) or does not
communicate to parallel
                 port

                 parport.o parport_pc.o do theses need to be enable
every time with
                 insmod for it to talk to the printer port?

                 Q2
                 How does one calibrate the x,y,z movement displayed on
screen to the
                 motor's position?

                 example:

                 I have a 200 step motor geared to 4:1 ratio ie motor
turns 4 times to
                 every revolution of the lead screw, so for every 1.0
displayed the
                 motor needs to turn 4 times.

                 Backplot not working
                 I run backplot by executing the tk script in the
                 /usr/local/emc/tcl/scrips dir, it fires up the window
but the window
                 just stays gray and empty?
