NML error

Having a problem and narrowed it down to this:

     void main(int argc, char* argv[])
     {
         NML *channel = new NML(helloFormat, "hello_buf", "hello_proc", 
"rcshello.nml");
     }


I get this error:

What's a MASTER ?  Have I forgotten something?
