editor and buffer problems

Running 2.0.36 ...rt  09J with Jan 2001 dist. of
emc running minimill and ppmc.

Tkemc displays a startup message about not being
able to find a buffer...

error 321. emcSharebuffer not found (at least
close to this).

Further using either the internal xemc or tkemc
editor or vi in another term window tends to
freeze. When it happens it is on closing the
editor (Save) or closely associated with it.

Machine is a P200 with 32 Mb of memory and a 2 Gb
hard disk. (Dell 5200).

Ideas or fixes would be much appreciated.
