Spontaneous losses of the index pulse

Hi list,

unfortunately I get spontaneous losses of the index pulse for one axis here.
When I decrease the homing speed EMC savely detects the index pulse, so I guess
it is a timing problem.
My current timing settings are CYCLE_TIME = 0.001000 for this axis. Does it
help to set CYCLE_TIME = 0.0005 ?
With what setting will the axis computations finally eat up all of my CPU
power ? I still have the "default" values for all the timing parameters in my
ini file.
The CPU is an AMD K6-2 300, how fast can this CPU perform the axis
computations ?
Does anyone have any numbers to compare ?
I am running on the STG card and servos.
I applied a small patch to emcmot.c because my index pulse does not come
together with the home switch, so I have a handfull (<10) of variable
comparisons more than other people, if that matters.

Regards
Max
