What services are NOT needed with EMC

Hi All,

I am setting EMC up to run my table top mill, and I have a question
about linux services.  What services are NOT needed on a linux system
for EMC?

I assume that you really don't need networking, NFS and other assorted
services which normal linux machines have running.  I am thinking about
configuring run level 4 to be the run level for EMC which would include
the X11 stuff and the necessary services to be able to run EMC and the
necessary rtlinux modules.

Is this an appropriate thing to do?
