cvs update error

Emc SourceForgers,
At the end of "cvs update" for emc, I get:
cvs [update aborted]: shutting down connection to
cvs.EMC.sourceforge.net: Bad file descriptor
Of course, It may not really be the end, but it's where my update ends.
The last entry I get is:
cvs server: Updating rcslib/src/w3c
Anybody else get this? Any clues to what is wrong or is this just
normal?
