I just installed this readhat version,
didn't try EMC yet.

What is better for the current EMC version
egcs-1.1.2 or gcc-2.95.2. ?

using gcc-2.96 anything is a bad idea.
redhat is in the 'deep darks' with many
people on the gcc steering committee about
releasing that version.

you probably want to back it down to
egcs-1.1.2 or perhaps gcc-2.95.2.
