This doesn't make much sense.  He might mean have the
EMC object and other files on the server, but run them on
the individual machines.  EMC is actually so small that it
is no problem to have it on each machine's local disk,
except for the management problem.  But, he might also
mean to have the individual machines diskless.

Yes, clearly.  But, this (client/server) has been done.
