Ok sounds good,
a short summary,
redhat 6.1
prepatched 2.2.14 with rtlinux 2.2 from site
refrenced on linuxcnc.org
6.1 comes with gcc version egcs 2.91.66 and it all
seemed to compile properly through the emcsh.cc, so no
file editing was necassary.
Followed all instructions from linuxcnc.org on the
kernel install, except, instead of linking rtlinux 2.0
with rtlinux-2.2 I just renamed rtlinux-2.2 directory
rtlinux-2.0 just after instalation of the prepatched
kernal was completed.
for june release of emc, folowed directions on
linuxcnc.org, but no file edits, and moved the
following:
dbg_mem.h
inifile.h
emcglb.h
mbuff.h
rcs_defs.hh
so that emc could find them. just repeated the
./compile, and moved one at a time, until only
warnings about files being called more than once
remained.
and that was it.
I will be reinstalling everything again, just to see
if I can do it with the notes I made, or if I just got
lucky, which is entirely possible, but I really hope
not, I am all out of spare hard drives, and friends
that will loan me thiers.
Thanks,
Andrew
