Re: EMC quirks
I am still running the 20-Dec-1999 version of EMC, as I
had trouble with the 15-Mar-2000 version freezing the
GUI.
I noticed two small bugs in the 20-Dec version. One is
really a small quirk. When you set a run mark in the
edit screen, the OK to set Run Mark dialog box displays
the line number N word, but only uses up to 3 digits on
the N word. So, if you set the run mark on a line that
began N1234, it would show up as N123
The second bug may have been there a long time, I remember
some similar things happening with the X interface, and even
with the keystick program, which had special code to defeat
it. That is when two arrow keys are depressed before the
first is let up, the machine gets stuck in jog, and only pressing
esc will stop it (I think, maybe another arrow key will also stop
it). Anyway, this is easily repeated by hitting the -> and down
arrow at about the same time, and when you have no keys
pressed, the machine continues moving in continuous jog.
Thanks,
Jon
