Linux kernels?

Dear list,

I am trying to install EMC.  Not being very experienced with Linux I am stuck on
getting the right Linux version running.
I have had Red Hat 6.0 running for some time but it has the 2.2.5-15 kernel.  A
recent purchase was TurboLinux Workstation which said it used Kernel 2.2.13 on
the box but when loaded it shows a kernel of 2.2.14.  It did have a Kernel
choice during setup and I picked the Pentium choice.  Was that wrong?

What will be the best way for me to proceed?  From what I have read getting the
right kernel and right version of RTLinux is very important.

Any help will be appreciated.
