The system is running now,
after I installed a second parallel port.
I also connected some steppermotors and they move!

I have only one thing left which doesn't work,
logging and then plotting the log file.
This plotting uses the utility Xgraph.
I downloaded the tool which is already compiled for linux,
when is run it it misses some X.. library.
There are many X.. libraries on the system, but not this one.
(I have a redhat 6.1 system)
Any hints?

You need two parallel ports. One for step, direction, and the home & limit
switches. The second is for the digital I/O like the spindle control,
coolant, e-stop, etc. You'll note that there are two places in the .ini file
to specify the parallel port addresses...
