Re: z move with cutter comp.
Matt, Frank, Jon +
This z move problem really bugged me because I read somewhere that it had
been fixed. But I knew it couldn't be done when I suggested a circle
program with variables for Frank. Well I found it. The latest release
notes say:
--------------------
New in 24-Jan-2000:
<snip>
2. A fix to a problem with cutter compensation in which Z axis moves
didn't work with cutter comp on. Now they do.
<snip>
--------------------
I don't know whether you can pick up the radius offset with a z move or if
you can just turn on cutter comp and then drop the tool. But this file
says it's fixed.
I'm in total agreement that we should update the release that Frank is
using because there have been a number of fixes recently that prevent NaN
and runaways. And there is all the new gui stuff.
Matt, Frank could we talk through an update? Is this a 2.0.36 kernel? Or
are there other problems that make that difficult?
