I had thought you were going to put in Camsoft, but if you're going to stay
with the EMC (and I'm glad you are), then we need to get these problems
resolved. First, you need to get the latest version of the EMC, and maybe
even a later version of the RTLinux patches (the one most everyone on the
list is using is rtlinux_09J). Earlier versions of the EMC code would run
away when executing certain arc moves. I found this out while testing the
machine I did after yours and it was fixed. Recently Clint Bach and Ian
Wright found some more of these and they were also fixed, so you _really_
need the latest version. A big plus is that you can use one of several
Xwindows based interfaces that have lots more features (such as Verify) than
the old keystick interface. If the latest version doesn't fix the runaway
problem, then there must be a hardware problem (encoder or tach wiring?) and
that will need to be tested and fixed. Call me when you get a chance and I'm
sure we can get everything updated and straightened out. It's been a while
since I (or Fred) was up there and maybe it's time for another road trip.

I read this, but didn't recognize your name. If (as Jon Elson surmised) this
is a problem with the interpreter, we'll have to get it taken care of.
