Hi EMC people,
Just sitting here having my morning coffee, wife gone south for a few days.
Thinking about how nice it would be if it were simple to install EMC. You
known there is OS like windows... just turn on your computer and do what
you need/want to do. Installing is simple it either will or it won't. And
there is linux... it cheap and widely recognised by the educated community,
so lots of free interestring programs. BUT my wife would never use it.
She just wants to turn on the computer and click here and there and do what
she wants.
There must be a lot of people out there who would love to use EMC in there
home shops. After all who can't afford a $10 486-box and a used
keyboard, mouse, monitor and a couple of stepper motors + leadscrews etc.
Thing is emc is so hard to get going. I bet there's many not so determined
people that never make it. Should they lose the "gift" because they are
not computer minded?
I think not.
Could one of you smart people make a cdrom that would copy itself on to a
clean formated harddrive, setting the needed parameters such as mem size,
machine type, etc? Also all the srcs, email log, and drop-box.
If this could be done, I am sure a place line Linux Centeral would happly
make copies at their $7.25 rate!
