Hi
Bingo! and finally our position counter stuck problem
has solved!
guess how we solved it? (infact we didnt do it, it
just solved!!)
We were too much fedup with the problem and the last
things we
were trying was to run EMC over slower systems. We had
installed it
over a pentium-1 200 mmx maachine. doing this resulted
in major improvement as i told in my last post. we
were able to move each axis upto 5 volts. Then we had
to return this P1(it was borrowed)
so i just pulled out my hard drive out of it and put
it into
our pentium - III machine without reinstalling the EMC
with linux
now what we saw was a tremendous complete improvement
in our problem
and now the problem doesnt exist anymore. now we can
move each axis
upto full 10 vlotls without counters hanging. Althouh
this P-III
is the same P-III machine which was unable to run the
same STG-II card
with the same EMC version. and was making us mad and
crazy...
The problem is solved somehow but it is still a
mystery that what
is the actual truoble? Paul, Les, Ray, Jon Elson and
Nasir
Please look into the matter. I think the future of
Servo based EMC
systems with STG-II depends on the solution of this
problem.
and I think the problem needs special attention.
Just now we have tuned and caliberated our x and y
axis and now we can move x and y beds at 200 ips
without any vibration and noise!!
our z-axis encoder has some problem we hope to fix it
soon and i
hope we will be able to stand with happy users of EMC
regards
Babar
