several options (there are others too): 

run ftpd (the ftp server daemon) on the emc machine and allow users log in 
and transfer files using an ftp client such as CuteFTP on windows

run Samba on the EMC machine, export a home directory to the user desktop so 
the 'M' drive or some such in windows parlance is mapped to a home directory 
on the EMC machine 

run Samba on the EMC machine and hav it mount a directory on an existing 
windows machine as a mountpoint on the EMC box, thus giving EMC access to the 
windows server ... 

to avoid the Samba overhead on EMC set up a seperate Samba box to use as a 
group fileserver ..also export as NFS mounts the home directories on the 
Samba box to the EMC machine ... 

(the latter is the most elegant, the first is the simplest)
