One of the troubles of linux is that there is often several ways of doing
something. Some people are "Command Line Junkies" and others prefer a GUI,
and then there are the fanatics who swear by vi or emacs (one great way to
start a flame way - ask which is best, and then duck <G>).
Assuming you used kppp to configure your modem settings, click on the Setup
button, highlight the account you intend to use and then Edit. You should
have a box with a tab labeled DNS, under this, you should be able to add to
the list by entering IP addresses in the "DNS IP Address" box.
Alternatively, you can manually edit the /etc/resolv.conf file and add a
couple of lines to it (from my own file) :-
nameserver 194.168..4.100
nameserver 194.168.8.100
nameserver 194.73.82.242
Once these lines have been added, the network services can be restarted with:-
/etc/init.d/network restart
