operator interaction

Hi All,

 I got a mill working with the two stepper motors with a home grew
driver, so right now I am able to work with only two axis.

  I would like to be able to do some work, wait for operator
intervention and continue working.

I would appreciate your help getting this done. (I use 4 bits per
phase, so keyboard interaction would be great!).
