That is correct.  The move to home position before shutdown would have to be 
used so that the machine is setup for the corrrect home direction on the next 
startup.  The opertor would need to be aware enough to check that each axis 
will go the correct direction and she would need to be awake enough to press 
the abort if it did something wrong.

So the short answer is if you start your machine before coffee put the switch 
where you say it ought to be.
