Re: Newbie cuts wood, feels empowered...



I'm pleased to announce that I've managed to make my first cuts as well on
my mini-CNC over the holidays.  I just tweaked the cds.ngc code a bit for my
own setup (I only have 2.25" of Z travel total), and happily machined some
pink foam from Home Depot!  A sheet lasts me almost forever as I only have
8x8" movement in the XY plane, and it's only a couple bucks for a full 4x8'
sheet.  It seems to work well with both my spindle motors (stock
ball-bearing Dremel tool, and DeWalt cutout tool).  I don't have pics of the
cuts up yet, (holidays took a toll on my batteries) but I will as soon as I
get some taken.
