'.' is current working directory
'..' is the parent directory
so ../emc.run actually means, exec the emc.run in my parent directory.
(that is the directory above the one you are in)
which tends to imply either you are not where you think you are
type 'pwd' without the quotes to find out where you are
or your installation is unusual.
../emc.run probably will not work. you do need to be in the same dir as
emc.run
